Born in Ohio but raised mainly in New York, Donald Huffman Graff had an early interest in anthropology. After earning B.A. and M.A. degrees, he spent twelve years as archaeologist, working in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, the piedmont of Honduras, the bayous of Louisiana, and the deserts of the American Southwest. Since leaving academia, he’s passed through the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest, the suburban sprawl around Washington D.C., and the prairies of Kansas. Along the way, he’s published several articles about the Maya, pseudonymous pieces in the ‘zine Imperial Luau, and stories in Nova SFThe Last Offering is his first novel.
